being aunty in alaska

26 July 2012
I am Chelsea. And this is one of my sistas, Holly.

She and her husband Jordin have two beautiful little girlies.
I frequently take them on Adventure Walks.
We occasionally plant flowers.
We always play in the woods,
and sometimes build forts.
We go exploring and have picnics.
And we of course play at the new park.
Sometimes we see Alaskan wildlife!
Pheasants… porcupines…

and chickens…
Natalie and Katy love their chickens.

And we all love sleepovers.
With a sleepover sometimes comes a morning walk,
which sometimes includes a morning fence climbing in Hammer pants.
I do love being an aunty to my two little nieces here in Alaska land.
They make me one happy girl and teach me much about life and love.

24 July 2012
I haven’t made today a very fantastic day.
It’s just kind of meh.
I slept in too late and haven’t had enough vegetables or water.
I forgot to say my prayers this morning and haven’t read my scriptures yet.
I’m about to go to work and clean boats now.
You can always find fantastic things if you look for them though.
Miss Natalie’s “Pictures for Sale”
“Pictures Sold.”
Stacy and Scott and Jakey get here in a few days. Y.E.S.
PS Church was so good yesterday. I love sundays.

moosehead point

23 July 2012
This was some wandering from the other week.
It was Excellent with a capital E.

Well… my dear brother turned 27 on the tenth of julho.
To celerate, we (Dad, Hilary, Chris, Tyler, and I) kayaked across the bay to…

Moosehead Point!
This Excursion was made possible by my dearest father.

We found this cool egg shell in the woods.
As always there were lovely trees.
Where’s Waldo/Tyler? He’s pushing dead trees down the cliff and into the agua.
We had some snacks over there too.
And we kayaked lots and lots. Found pretty sea stars.
And we found some other beachy peachy treasures too.
We even tried to take a little nap.
Twas a very lovely day had with lovely funny peoples.
And then we kayaked some more and more and more.
One stroke at a time, kids.
Thanks Pops. And universe. :)

some joyfuls

20 July 2012
My mama flew home on tuesday! Yay now I’m not alone anymore!
I have been spending much time in the lovely harbor cleaning boats. I do love it. And I love when Annie and I take each other homemade treats. Today included whole wheat cookies with flax and chia seeds and lots of chocolate chips.
Fantastic moment. Sunday. I gave away um Livro de Mórmon!
There is a most wonderful brazilian lady who lives here in town and I shared with her about the Book of Mormon and I did it in portuguese of course and it reminded me of the glorious days as Sister Owens.
I went adventure walking with my beautiful nieces, which always brightens my day, even when it’s cloudy and rainy. But I like rain too. :) We need it at times.
Best news ever!!! Penelope Q. Subaru is back in action! Obrigadão Dad! Thank you! Omg I was so happy and still am. I love this car so much. She pretty much completes me.
Did some lovely sunset watching and beach walking.
And I’ve been playing very much with these two little angels in beautiful Alaska.
I love summer. And I can’t wait for my brother and sista and brother in law to get here in a week. Oh happy day!!

15 July 2012

No exciting pictures to show today, as I haven’t done tooooo much wandering this week.

But I have done some pondering.
Which is also very good and very important.
This quote by President Hinckley’s wife is very lovely.
“There is no such thing as a small act of kindness.”
–Marjorie Paye Hinckley

Tomorrow I’m teaching how all things denote there is a God to my 14-15 year olds for sunday school. I loooooove them. Sometimes it appears they don’t pay much attention, but I’m sure they get something out of being there, that’s what I pray for at least. And prayers are always answered in some way and at some time.

week two of Utah fun

14 July 2012
tuesday. 3 de julho.
A breakfast with my peeps from the BYU Jerusalem Center!! We arrived in the Holy Land 3.5 years ago, and it’s never been the same since. :)
There were lots of fires in Utah land. Eeeee.
And I saw Sara! She’s from my lovely homertown.
And I sat in front of the temple and pondered a bit. Tis good to take time for that.
wedenesday. 4 de julho.
a patriotic visit with grammie :)
My dear mother and aunty and I went to uncle Marky’s and cleaned up his room and organized his stuffs and fed him dinner. Twas grand.
And since it was the 4th of July, I ate smores and played with sparklers and watched fireworks with beautiful Jenny, who is with child. :)

thankful thursday. 5 de julho.
July 5th, the day that both of my grandmas were born. Naturally, I went out to celebrate with some Provo Bakery goods. And I got to do it with this lovely lady, Carolyn, who was my mission companion in Pittsburgh, PA when I was there for a few days waiting for my visa to Brasil. Twas so grand catching up and seeing her happy life.
And of course we all had a party for grandma and got together and ate. :)
And I visited my MTC companion and met her fiance! I’ve had many marvelous memories with this Lori girl. We spoke portuguese, and I must say, we’ve improved muchly since our mtc days.
Then I went back to the Farnworth home to say goodbye, and came upon these sayings of the my lovely aunt Pam, who is greatly missed. One is the Touch of the Master’s HandRead it. Or watch it.

friday. 6 de julho.
Twas the awaited casamento eterno of Sister Morales! My first companion when I got to Brasil on my mission.
This was such a happy moment with my fellow missionários de Missão Brasil Vitória.
I also went to the Oquirr Mountain temple!
With this lovely brasileira/americana that I met at the mtc long ago. This was grand. And one of her cousins is in my mission. I love mutual friends. :)
Then back to the Joyce + Spencer reception!! Meet the Schwenke family.
Saw a couple other returned missionary friends too! Funny seeing everyone without the name tag.
Then Mom and I stopped by the Orem City Cemetery to remember good times with Pam and Grandpa.
saturday. 7 de julho.
Mom, Grandma, and Connie took me to the SLC airport, and then they went to go play in slc with their cousins and more family. :) I flew home and met cool peoples in the airport.
There’s no place like home. And there’s no people like family.

Home in Alaskaland

12 July 2012

I have much blog catching up to do.

But good news, I got done cleaning boats at 6:30 tonight!
Which I think is a first in all my seven summers of boat cleaning.
Tis lovely being home again and I’ll soon post on the rest of my Utahn adventures.
This was the highlight of the trip though, being at the sealing of my dear mission companion and her eternal companion, along with a few other returned sisters and Presidente and Sister Pickett!
But it is grand being back in my Alaskan homeland.
This beautiful niece and I tried to scale a little bluff to go on a beach walk.
And yesterday we had a grand kayak adventure in Kachemak Bay!
I love summer.
PS I came home from Utah to oodles of letters from my lovely missionary friends. I love missionaries too.

3 July 2012

Joyce and I went to the Pickett’s sweet house for lunch today!
It was perfectly delightful,
and was made complete with Sister Pickett’s cookies.
President and Sister Pickett are simply wonderful (and I love their home!).
Joyce Buddy is wonderfully wonderful too.
I’m so happy I’ll be here in Utah for her and Spencer’s wedding!
I love happy reunions with those I love.

PS. Over a year ago we were all in Vitória, Brazil making Mexican food!
And yes, still sporting the parrot earrings.

Music and the Spoken Word in the conference center!
I loved it muchly. I can’t wait to go back for general conference in october!

At Temple Square I saw two sisters I know from byuh. :)
We went up to the statue of Christ.
Christ is a title. It means “annointed one.”
I relearned that today as I visited with my uncle Mark and browsed through his scriptures.
I do love visits.

Visited my grandma’s neighbor today too, who is the mother of Lloyd Newell! :)
And he is the Music and the Spoken word man. I met him and his family.
So many lovely peoples.
